when you’re so in love with comics and their characters and their world but you know ultimately they’re flawed by design because things will never be allowed to end, redemption arcs will never stick, with every retcon a character gets setback 5 years in characterisation, a characterisation which is never consistent or satisfying. anything good will be ruined the second a series ends or a writer’s bored of a marriage, romance or friendship storyline. nothing means anything anymore, death is so arbitrary and characters that should have come back are dead or in comic book limbo meanwhile characters who should be dead at this point are still around
